Apparently, magnesium glycenate and melatonin is no match for caloric restriction-induced insomnia. Here we are again.

It has been a bit of a frustrating week for me. I suffered a mild sprain of my right knee at jiu-jitsu which forced me to miss class yesterday. No bueno.

These days I only have one mode - GO. Because of this, I had to find something that felt like an adequate replacement for jiu-jitsu while giving my knee a few days off to calm down. Boxing has always been fascinating to me, so I booked in a class up the road from my office.

I cannot stress enough how different an atmosphere this was to what I’d expected. I need a boxing gym that forces you to do cardio until you piss blood. This was social hour. Everyone knows that I’m Hamilton’s premier social butterfly, so I was right at home.

I doubt I’m going back there.

It’s 1:30 AM here and my knee is feeling pretty good. Seems like icing it is doing the trick. Looking forward to next week.
